Call for personal narratives on economic mobility in Detroit

Are you a Detroiter who has walked the path of economic mobility? Maybe you finished your education, got some new training or started your own business — and now you’re better able to pay your bills, maybe even save for the future and start building generational wealth?

Your story is important to us, and we want to help you tell it. That’s why we’re partnering with Detroit Writing Room to identify five fellows to help shape personal narratives in written or audio format.

You’ll participate in a workshop on Sept. 29 and receive one-on-one mentorship from writing coaches to help craft your story. You’ll also receive a $300 stipend for your story, which will be published by Detour Detroit.

Previous writing or storytelling experience is welcome, but not necessary! Sounds good? Sign up to apply in five minutes or less.
